Karoline Amaury

Karoline Amaury is a contemporary Belgian photographer who works and lives in Luxor. Trained at the Saint-Luc School of Art and Architecture and La Cambre Institute for Art and Photography in Brussels, Amaury combines a background in fine art and photography with a longstanding study of Egyptian mythology, symbolism, sacred geometry, and cosmology. Her practice explores the intersection of archaeology, spirituality, and the metaphysical dimensions of the natural world, drawing particular inspiration from the temples of ancient Egypt and their symbolic relationship to the human body and the cosmos.

Since 2018, she has worked in collaboration with archaeologist Dr Zahi Hawass, documenting excavations at sites including the Valley of the Monkeys in the Valley of the Kings and the Lost Golden City of Amenhotep III (Aten) near Luxor. Her photographs move beyond archaeological record to reveal the poetic and spiritual resonance of place, using light as both subject and language. Through an intimate engagement with landscape, architecture, and ancient knowledge systems, her work seeks to uncover the invisible connections between humanity, nature, and the sacred.
